9.30am, or there-about at the mountain bike trails. For those with tools and need parking closer to the site I will try and remember to bring gate key. Otherwise, if parking near the roundabout is busy, try and use the beach carpark, if you need to bring a car! Piers
We will be joining forces again with Highland Council Ranger Saranne Bish to host a Christmas Crafts night at the Townhouse in Grantown; on the evening of the turning on of the festive lights; Friday 29th November 2013. Times to be confirmed.
We will be out in the woods a few days in advance to gather Noble fir, grand fir and hemlock foliage for wreaths and small birch and pine logs and sticks for reindeer heads, bodies and legs. Come and learn how to put them back together for festive decorations for the home
11 volunteers from New Caledonian Woodlands, led by Donald McPhillimy (a forester based in the Scottish Borders) and supported by Piers Voysey (director) got busy in the woods this past weekend (19th & 20th October 2013); reducing the spread of beech, rhododendron and spyria in the woodlands and cleaning sections of path - particularly the all-ability section under the A95.
New Caledonian Woodlands exists to enhance the natural environment, inspire positive environmental behaviour change and improve mental and physical well-being; via a range of environmental projects with a focus on hands-on conservation activity. For more details visit
