A thriving wild pinewood, supported by the local community
Anagach Woods is a community-owned woodland in Grantown-on-Spey. Situated between the town centre and the mighty River Spey, it spans nearly a thousand acres.
Anagach Woods is a special place cherished by local people and visitors alike, with an expansive network of woodland trails and stunning scenery. Scots pine, birch, juniper, and rowan sit amongst primeval peat-bogs, hidden lochans and ancient eskers, which together create the site’s magical character.
Anagach Woods provides habitat for rare and endangered species such as the capercaillie, twinflower, and pine hoverfly.
